Espresso Martini Recipe: Vodka, Coffee, and a Citrus Twist
How to make an Espresso Martini with vodka, coffee liqueur, and fresh espresso — finished with a dehydrated orange wheel.
An Espresso Martini is vodka, coffee liqueur, and a freshly pulled shot of espresso, shaken hard with ice and double-strained into a chilled coupe. Three coffee beans is the traditional garnish; a dehydrated orange wheel adds aroma without disturbing the foam.
Ingredients
- 50ml vodka
- 25ml coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa or Mr Black)
- 30ml fresh hot espresso
- 10ml sugar syrup (optional, to taste)
- 1 Batch & Peel dehydrated orange wheel (or 3 coffee beans)
Method
- 1
Chill a coupe glass in the freezer while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, and sugar syrup to a shaker filled with ice.
- 3
Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds — this is what builds the signature crema.
- 4
Double-strain into the chilled coupe and let the foam settle for a few seconds.
- 5
Float a dehydrated orange wheel on top, or three coffee beans for the classic finish.
