Old Fashioned Recipe: The Classic with a Blood Orange Twist

An Old Fashioned is bourbon (or rye), a sugar cube, two dashes of Angostura bitters, and an orange garnish, stirred over a single large ice cube. This version uses a dehydrated blood orange wheel for deeper aroma and a longer-lasting garnish than fresh peel.

Ingredients
- 60ml bourbon
- 1 sugar cube (or 1 tsp demerara syrup)
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 dash orange bitters
- 1 Batch & Peel dehydrated blood orange wheel
Method

Place the sugar cube in a rocks glass and saturate with the bitters and a small splash of water.

Muddle until dissolved, then add a single large ice cube.

Pour the bourbon over the ice and stir gently for around 20 seconds to chill and dilute.

Float a Batch & Peel blood orange wheel on top. Express the aroma over the glass before serving.
